At Azalea, we commit to noticing and caring for the spaces we are in - Learning to give, Learning to take/use only what we need.

We also give back to local organizations with time and finances. These include regular financial donations to Our Community Reads (Ypsilanti), Southwest Detroit Immigrant & Refugee Center, Lakota Way Healing Center, Local Birth & Death Doulas, among others. We support local organizations and events, including the Redford Brightmoor Initiative, Zion Well, Canton PRIDE OUTside. Probono services are also provided within a percentage of all services provided from Azalea.

We acknowledge we work, live, visit, and are responsible to steward these lands - the unceded, Ancestral Territory & Home of Mississauga, Anishinabek, Bodwéwadmi, Wyandot, & Peoria Tribes, who were forcibly removed.

We acknowledge and honor the wisdom & cultural richness of these Indigenous peoples that continue to enrich this land and communities to this day. We recognize the enduring connection that Indigenous Peoples have with this land, and we honor their Ancestors: past, present, and future.

We share our gratitude and give our respect for their stewardship, resilience, and teachings, which have shaped and continue to shape Land’s history and identity.

As we move forward, we strive to recognize the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous peoples and work toward reconciliation, de-colonization, and a future of mutual respect and collaboration.

At Azalea, we acknowledge that Colonization is current and ongoing. We are committed to building our actions, continuing education & embodying mindfulness of how we presently participate in de-colonization of our lives and communities every day.
